Outside the curriculum the children are very busy with fundraising for charity – very often in fancy dress. The charities we have supported are many and varied, but regularly we send money to:

  • Send a Cow (to Africa)
  • Readathon – The Malcom Sargeant Fund for Sick Children/Roald Dahl Foundation
  • Macmillan Nurses

We have organized sponsored skips, Mileathons (for Macmillan) and sponsored treasure hunts around the village. Parents are invited to join in the fun.

We encourage the children to be part of the community and to join in local and national celebrations such as the Queen’s Jubilee in 2002, when everyone was royalty for the day, in one way or another…staff included!

Outings and visits are an important part of school life; as well as being fun and an adventure in them selves they serve a useful educational purpose at many levels. Places we visit include:

  • Rockingham Castle
  • Chedworth Roman Villa
  • Stoke Bruerne Waterways Museum
  • Chiltern Open Air Museum
  • Cotswold Wildlife Park
  • Oxford Botanic Garden
  • Newnham Courtney Arboretum
  • Cogges Farm, Witney
  • Blenheim Palace
  • "Past Alive" at Pitsford
  • Peterborough Cathedral
